Intermax Pty Ltd is currently seeking a dedicated and motivated undergraduate student to join our technical support team as a Field Technician.
This role presents a unique opportunity for hands-on learning while pursuing your studies, with the potential for a full-time role upon degree or diploma completion.
As a Field Technician, you will provide essential on-site technical assistance, maintenance, and support to our valued clients, specializing in barcode scanners, mobile computers, printers, and Wi-Fi equipment. We are looking for an individual with strong technical aptitude, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a customer-centric approach.
- Hybrid (Onsite & Remote)
- Part time (Min. of 20 hours/week)
- Travel to client locations to perform installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient coordination of field operations and project implementation.
- Document all service activities, including work performed, solutions applied, and customer interactions, in detailed service reports.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of equipment and tools used during on-site visits.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
- Emergency Drop offs and call outs.
- Basic administration tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications preferred.
- Proven experience as a Field Technician or similar role is desirable.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining hardware and software systems.
- General knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various client sites.
- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours if required.

- Network/WIFI support – includes Cisco controller at WW
- Preconfigure and installation assistance of new WIFI
- Preconfigure of Android RF Terminals
- Preconfigure and assembly of Vehicle mount RF Terminals
- System Creation within office of all procedures
- Drop off and pickups when required (seldom)
- Backup of basic Telnet/Modernisation/Voice Solutions
- Testing and configuration of Repair Hardware Pre/Post
- Video creation of basic setups or issue resolving
- Basic BV TRAINING for support
- Remote Management assistance and reporting
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
